How Do I Clean An Unfinished Guitar

So I bought a used unfinished Warmoth torso & neck a couple months ago. Neck is maple and body is ash. Previous possessor actually put the whole guitar together without adding whatever kind of finish to both cervix and body. He didn't use em much and so its in good condition. Merely the problem with all of it is its a scrap dirty. Not as well bad but you can tell he played it unfinished. Calorie-free smudges and such on the fretboard. A tad yellowed where the forearm rests on the body, and tape goo some parts on the top.
Whatsoever tips on how to clean some of this upwardly? I was told maybe Mineral spirits and some sanding merely just wanted to ask you lot guys for whatever extra advice.

Sanding is good alittle h2o will enhance the grain then sand it may take the clay off

thank you macma. yep I really want the ash as clean as possible. I desire a articulate finish for information technology so the cleaner the better.

Cool, is in that location a sure way to use mineral spirits? or exercise i just dab it on some textile and wipe the dirtied areas?

and does anyone know how to get that tape goo off the ash? would the sanding exercise the job?

I similar to use denatured alcohol; it's not every bit harsh as other chemicals. The Guitar Actor Repair Guide always mentioned Naptha, also.

Absurd, is there a certain way to use mineral spirits? or do i just dab it on some cloth and wipe the dirtied areas?
a dab will do ya and wipe abroad years of dirt..

meths will do it. just requite it 24 hours to let information technology dry off earlier painting

Thanks for all the help guys! much appreciated! Hopefully I tin get this body clean so I tin can start finishing it.
